Summary: Create a table and Word figures out column widths by dividing the horizontal space by the number of columns you want in the table. You can use this feature to your advantage when creating tables by applying the simple technique described in this tip. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)
Word allows you to easily create tables, but getting your column widths "just so" can be challenging, at times. Tip #1757 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 97 2000 2002 2003
