Printing Summary Information

Summary: When you save a document, Word includes in the document file a lot of summary information related to the document. This information doesn’t normally print when you print the document itself, but you may want to print the summary information by following the steps presented here. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)

In other issues of WordTips you learned that Word allows you to maintain summary information for your documents along with the properties it automatically maintains. If you want to print this information, you can do so quite easily:

  1. Select Print from the File menu. This displays the Print dialog box. (Click here to see a related figure.)
  2. Using the Print What drop-down list, select Document Properties.
  3. Click on OK.

Tip #1672 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003

Take Control! Master the real power behind Word! Successfully master the secrets of powerful formatting and create documents that stand out from the rest. Best of all, you can create documents that are easy to maintain and quick to change.
