Summary: One of the fields provided by Word is FileName, which returns the name of the document file for the current document. Inserting the file name in the header or footer of a document is a common task; this tip explains how it is done. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)
When you print your document, it is often a good idea to include the document name in the header or footer. This allows you, at a later date, to recall the name of the file in which the document is stored. To include document names in the header or footer, follow these steps:
