Displaying a Message in the Status Bar in WordBasic

Summary: When creating a WordBasic macro, place text in the status bar to let people know what is happening. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 6, and Word 95.)

When you are creating WordBasic macros, you can place a message on the status bar by using the Print statement, as follows:

Print "I'm working as fast as I can..."

The message within the quote marks is displayed on the status bar. If you use the Print statement, you can keep users informed about what your macro is doing. (After all, it's best not to leave them wondering.)

Tip #724 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 6 | 95
