Starting Microsoft Graph

Summary: How to get started with Microsoft Graph, also called Microsoft Chart. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 6, Word 95, Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)

Microsoft Graph is a simple graphing program provided with Word. It includes the ability to view your graph data in both spreadsheet and graph formats. The graphs you create can be inserted directly into your documents. You access Microsoft Graph using any of these methods:

  • If you are using Word 6, click on the Insert Graph tool on the toolbar.
  • Choose Object from the Insert menu. Word displays the Object dialog box. Choose the object type used by Microsoft Graph and click on OK. (The object name is Microsoft Graph in Word 6, MS Graph in Word 95, Microsoft Graph 97 Chart in Word 97, Microsoft Graph 2000 Chart in Word 2000, and Microsoft Graph Chart in Word 2002.)
  • Double-click on an existing chart originally created with Microsoft Graph.

Tip #699 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 6 | 95 | 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003
