Deleting a Page

Summary: Here’s a quick little macro that you can use to dispose of entire pages. Assign it to a button or shortcut, and you have a powerful way to get rid of document pages you no longer need. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)

Need a quick way to delete the current page in your document? Here's a macro that will do the trick:

Sub Delete_Page()
    ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("\Page").Range.Delete
End Sub

Assign the macro to a toolbar button or a shortcut key, and you have a way to easily delete the current page--the one in which the insertion point is located. The macro bases its determination of a "page" on the current pagination of the document, which is affected by the printer driver you are using and other formatting characteristics of the document.

Tip #227 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003

Take Control! Master the real power behind Word! Successfully master the secrets of powerful formatting and create documents that stand out from the rest. Best of all, you can create documents that are easy to maintain and quick to change.
