Disk Full Errors When Saving Macros

If you are a "macro maniac," and you are converting your macros to Word 97, you may run into a slight problem. When you save your newly converted macros to disk, you may get a disk-full error. (This occurs regardless of how much disk space you have available.) The reason for this is the length of the lines in the macros themselves. Under Word 95, which used WordBasic, there was no effective line length--Word took care of reformatting your macro lines to an acceptable length.

Under Word 97, there is essentially no limit on the line length, meaning that VBA won't reformat your lines--it leaves them as long as you enter them (or as long as the conversion process makes them). If you get the "disk full" error, look at your macros and shorten any long lines. If you get them fairly short (say, under 500 characters or so), and then try to save again, the error message should go away.
