Summary: Tired of Word marking Internet addresses as spelling errors? You can turn off this check by applying the steps in this tip. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, Word 2003, and Word 2007.)
If you have a large number of Internet addresses in your document, and those addresses always slow you down when doing a spell check, you can instruct Word to ignore them. This means that any URLs or e-mail addresses will be ignored by the spell check utility. If you are using a version of Word prior to Word 2007, follow these steps to make sure your Internet addresses are being ignored:
